3b: USING QUESTIONING AND DISCUSSION TECHNIQUES
Halloween Science Lesson Plan
Depth of Knowledge Chart
Halloween Lesson video where questioning technique is used for my students to reach the answer on their own.

When I teach my lessons always use a variety or series of questions or prompts to challenge students cognitively. I want my students to use their advance high-level thinking to solve problems and answer questions. To promote metacognition in my students helps guide them to better thinking, make better decisions, and to solve problems effectively. Students formulate many questions, initiate topics, challenge one another’s thinking, and make unsolicited contributions during a lesson or when an open class discussion takes place.
For my students to be willing to ask questions freely I need to make them feel that they are in a safe space and can talk freely. To keep them on track and aid them in obtaining the answer, rather than supplying it, i continue to ask questions until I see that "lightbulb". Students themselves, must also take part in making our classroom a welcoming environment to ensure that all voices are heard in the discussion. By allowing my students to take over the discussion and lead each other to think at a more challenging level creates a classroom of creativity and collaboration.
